Friendly little community local which has several beers, a jukebox (unusual these days), locals hanging out there with their kids and dogs etcetera, copies of London Drinker on the windowsill, and it all hangs together very nicely. Quite out of the way and I'm still not sure where it is - I saw it from the 337 bus and jumped off at the next stop, hoping to try it because I'd probably not pass that way very often. Several hours later I staggered out and caught the bus to Richmond. It's that kind of place.

Re - ericstadd below. The place has it's quirks. Arguably the grumpiest barman in London can be manning the pumps. Who also doubles as the chef. Some idiot shouts 'Back of the net!' everytime he puts on a song from the jukebox. At least that's what I think he's doing! A body of water runs by the pub. Which could be quite endearing, were it not for the fact that that in the summer a quite pungent stench wafts in through the open windows. On the right night however you can have one hell of a community local.

Popped in here for a pint one Saturday before visiting friends, good beers, friendly locals, dart board, no airs and graces, no poncy chrome or gastro rubbish just a proper pub. A rare find these days. I'll be back for sure.

Nice solid local, probably wouldn't make a special journey but has a nice feel and would drop by if in the area - a short walk from Barnes station across the common. A few good ales on pump.

Like the Eagle in Battersea, this is a greatly underrated pub. Run by the same couple for over 25 years, which goes to explain why its such a steady ship. The beers are always well kept and staff friendly.A greater choice of late- we had some delicious Twickenham beers. A solid consistent locaI, may it long continue. I think the landlord has been ill recently so best wishes.
