Two room Brains house. I sat in the bar, which is basically-furnished. A pool table stands at one end with a dart board. Locals congregated around the bar, discussing football. Brains Bitter & Opening Ceremony were the 2 ales on offer. I was somehow expecting better for my final pub of the day.

Friendly old style pub with a bar and lounge set up. Pool table and darts in the (modern) stone floored bar. A Brain's house serving a decent pint of SA - found it more hospitable than other hostelries in the vicinity.

Why this place is in the good beer guide I don't know. No other ales aside from Brains and over 3 for a pint of Carling! An unpretentious boozer with local character but not worth seeking out if you're a real ale head.

Update time, had a couple of very well kept 'Brains' bitters here on the afternoon of the 15 March, nice crowd but the landlord appears to be quite vocul!! 6/10

I agree with Biker, this pub has improved vastly in the last few years. It's where I always end up when visiting Llantwit now. The lounge is particularly good and the beer excellent. Hard to believe it was once a "no-go zone" in the not too distant past.
