I see that this one hasn't been reviewed for a while, so thought I would add my tuppence worth having been there earlier today.

Loved it.

Beautiful setting, as has been said before. I do like a nice beer garden to sit in quaff away in the sunshine and this place certainly ticks all the boxes in that respect.

We found the food very very good - had a fantastic ploughmans and the kids absolutely demolished their meals too. The beer - 6X - was excellent and very well kept.

I see there have been some commments about the service in the past. Well, all I can say is that the bunch they had in there today were all very friendly, polite, enthusiastic and hard working. When we ordered food they explained there would be a bit of a delay as they were clearly busy - far enough - and I also heard them explain to some other customers that they were out of pitta bread (for a Greek salad - I know!) so were offering alternatives instead. Good communication.

All in all a thoroughly pleasant afternoon - spoilt only by me getting us lost on the way back to London and then getting stuck in the obligatory Friday afternoon M25 tailbacks - and I can't blame the pub for any of that!

8/10

I have never before felt compelled to leave a review, good or bad, but after our visit to The Bridge on Sunday evening I feel I must on this occasion. Despite being 'Sunday Roast' day, there were no roasts available, and over half of the other dishes on the menu were unavailable, but we were not informed of this when we arrived. Although a bank holiday weekend, there was only one other table being served when we arrived so having to wait over 1 1/2 hours for our main courses to appear left us a little baffled. We then had to wait over 40 minutes for our plates to be cleared. The other table complained several times about waiting, and were met with apathetic responses. Did we complain? No, as I got the impression that the staff couldn't have cared less. We registered our displeasure by not leaving a tip, but having already been charged 30.00 a head felt we had already paid over the odds. Our view straight into the gents toilets (full sight of the urinals) just about summed up our visit. The food was just o.k.

I too was in the pub for lunch on the 17th on a table of 4. I am also a regular at The bridge and was also shocked to read those comments by 123gfl. Yes there was some items missing from the menu which we were all informed about before taking our seats and, given the recent weather which caused all sorts f logistical problems re deliveries, etc, I wasn't surprised to hear this. The staff were brilliant, as always, and the food first rate, as always. I did notice the complainer who looked incredibly miserable for the whole time, almost like he didn't really want to be there?
If you are thinking of visiting this brilliant Salisbury pub then please ignore the review of 17th Jan and go and enjoy yourselves. We went again last night with friends, table for 6 and had (another) wonderful time.
