Recently returned for overnight stay and discovered that the place had been under new management since the beginning of November.
What a difference, the public bar looks like a pub again with pool table jukebox table football etc fitted and being used without taking away the feeling of being an older style pub.
There was a choice of 4 local ales to choose from and each were very nice hoorah. The menu has under gone a radical change serving good wholesome pub/home cooked style food at reasonable prices.
Breakfast has improved considerably since last time.
Can highly recommend staying here now and will again.

In on a tuesday night and pub was quiet. Sharps Doom and something from Old Mill brewery. Beer was OK, served too cold though. I suppose that's marginally better than too warm - at least it will warm up in the glass! Chips were oven chips and poor so another mark off there. As a school report would say, has potential but could do better.

Popped in earlier on way to Ilminster Carnival just down the road. The place was extremely quiet for a saturday. Cotleigh Harrier and Moor Revival were on draught. Opted for the Moor which was beautiful and only 2.20! (all pints that price from 5pm-7pm everyday) service was friendly and attractive!! 8/10

Ever time I visit this pub there seems to be someone new in charge, but they all seem to struggle to do thing right.
The beer was hardly worth drinking, and although I did not eat here, those that were eating hardly seemed to be enjoying themselves.
It's a pity, it could be so much better, but it's not helped by the village idiots who frequent to public bar area.

Suffered somewhat when the bypass was built but seems to have survived quite well. Comfortable and clean village pub with reasonable welcome and well kept ales (Cotleigh Harrier and Sharp's Doom Bar were on today). Didn't eat but menu is very limited and very ordinary.
