user reviews of the Slug and Lettuce, Smithfields

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Met up with friends in here. None of the staff could speak english. Terribly hard to order Guinness. Did in the end then this was the bonus it was served at my table, me thinking that you pay when you go, but no, forgot to charge me. Then some dodgy looking ausie "bloke" came in to serve, very rude so i didnt own up about the previous pint. Areas were saved for various parties which were supposed to start at 5.45, nobody turned up. Dont go here for any atmosphere.

Now slug and lettuce. Visited only once when it was a hog's head. Ordered bottle of wine chosen by guests, aussie barman couldn't find the chosen selection. asked him to recommend something similar...response "I havent a clue mate". Says it all really.

I think this is now a Slug and Lettuce - so still as poor as a Hogshead. With so many decent boozers and bars to tickle everyone's fancy in the close proximity it really is a very poor show to frequent this place. Avoid.
