Excellent choice of beers from the brewery within the pub, their associated brewery the other side of Scarborough and a selection from other breweries. The main bar was heaving. Very jolly. It's about 20 minutes walk of the railway station and afterwards a couple minutes of the beautiful North Bay.

Loved it. The Equinox was outstanding. A must if in Scarborough!

Visited the North Riding Brew Pub on a recent weekday afternoon around 4pm. I happened to enter into the lounge bar which perhaps was my mistake as most of the pumps were on the other side of the bar, as were most of the punters. I went for a pint of the York Guzzler 3.6% at £2.70 for the pint. Only afterwards did I notice a chalk board with an impressive list of available cask ales, including some craft ales and some ciders. The pint I had was fine, but I may have gone for something a bit more exciting had I entered the other side of the bar and had chance to inspect the full array of pumps.

The pub itself seemed quiet, possibly a bit too quiet, and quite old fashioned in terms of layout and furniture. Nothing wrong with traditional, but it was bordering on looking a bit run down. A bit of a shame really.

If I am in the area again I would perhaps go again if I happened to be nearby.

I made the wife walk here from the seafront and I think it was another 100 yards further she would of turned back!

I'm glad we made the slog from town as its a cracking pub that is well worth the walk.

6 cask ales and another 3 craft beers on the taps. With a varied choice I opted for a pint of Bridestones American Pale Ale @ 5.0% followed by a pint of the on site breweries Motueka @ 4.3%. Both were very good beers and well conditioned.

We sat in the larger bar towards the front of the pub where most of the punters were sat chatting. Television on but no sound.

Still retains the hotel feel and has an upstairs dining room and rooms for the night. I didn't venture upstairs so I cannot comment on the food aspect.

Apparently over 2,000 different beers have been served since the pub was taken over from the old lady and turned into Scarborough's only brew pub.

Worth the walk for the ales alone....cracking pub

The only home-brew they had on our visit was far too strong so we had something a bit lighter from another Yorkshire brewery and then squeezed ourselves into the lounge bar as the main room was packed with people watching the footie (nothing wrong with that of course unless you can't get a seat!!) Had a couple of beers and would go back again on a quieter session when I could judge the place better.
