Awarded Scarborough Town Pub of the Year for 2012. 8 ales on including home brewed and guest craft beers which can be sampled in 1/3 pint measures. Always a good pub buzz here. mim - 30 Dec 2012 16:27
Every time we come to Scarborough we make a point of visiting The North Riding Brew Pub. I don't know where all these negative comments come from. The real ale is always top notch and the price can't be faulted for a pub that's not part of a chain. We like the atmosphere and the proper home cooked food. However, last night we were disappointed to find that no food was served between Christmas and New Year, it should have been mentionned on the website (we checked it before making our way there). That's the only complaint, I didn't visit the loo on this occasion. I'm scoring 7 as the lack of food wasn't mentionned. petronille - 29 Dec 2012 08:05
I have been here with my friends a few times and we've found the beer is often past its best. A better option is the Lord Rosebery which has never let us down on freshness or price, around £2 a pint of 8-12 CAMRA ales. As for 1,000's of ales, I think that might be a slight exaggeration, not to mention a little misleading. If you are referring to that large number as being beer brands served since the start of operation of a licensed free house then MANY, MANY pubs can match that. That's not a selling point! dartfulavenger - 5 Sep 2012 04:32
Local CAMRA Pub of the Year for the third year running. Over 1000 guest beers served in addition to its own. We had a great time here. I can't fault the quality of the beer. A 'must visit' in Scarborough for anyone who appreciates decent beer. arihall - 3 Sep 2012 18:07
Best thing about the North Riding is its own good value beers and range of other beers. All good value for money. Brewer trained by Rob at Yorkshire Dales which shows. Very quiet on a Friday lunchtime. Toilets certainy need a refurb. If you need to eat on a weekday lunchtime there is a good value cafe across the road. Rocky53 - 25 Aug 2012 10:23
