| This was our first port of call yesterday, with so many other Northern Quarter pubs and bars still closed. This was one of a very small number that were open late morning. The pub has quite a traditional, cosy interior. Service was also very friendly. However, JW Lees Bitter was the only cask ale choice. | Millstone is in the the Northern Quarter of the city centre, an area tipped to be the next "place to be".No idea what it's like as a hotel, but as regards a pub, some good, some bad. I found the staff and the owner really eager to please and easygoing. Stuck to the Guinness which I enjoyed. Early evening entertainment is provided, which according to the regular users I was chatting too is at times ok other times not. The biggest problem is space. Even when only half busy the layout makes it cramped and uncomfortable. A shame really because the seem to try hard to make it work. tuckyjim - 30 Jan 2011 20:53 |
