user reviews of Britannia Inn, Portland

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Used to be a fantastic friendly little pub until recently. Now it’s run by a rather grumpy pair who couldn’t care less about when they open, if at all. They both wear these ridiculous I’ll-fitting waistcoats leading them to be dubbed by locals as ‘the undertakers’. By many accounts, they used to run a pub further along the coast and were asked to leave as they were useless. Rumours are now circulating that they were brought in to run The Britannia with the intention of running it into the ground, making it easier for the leaseholder to shut it down and convert it into flats.

two handpumps available although the doom was off and the other ale was 7.5% so opted for pint of magners golden draught at a reasonable 3.00,friendly barmaid and a friendly bunch of regulars,6/10

Used to have a bit of a reputation but was fine when I went there. Had a guitar duo playing and one of them was the spitting image of Brad Pitt! Nice large patio out the back to soak up the sun in the summer.
