Well Dougdeep, I will tell you what can be better.... visit the Locks in the depths of a misty Autumn. Misty nights. Tranquility. A handful of customers. A very limited menu but that is for the best as it keeps the food to a high standard. Great beer and a fantastic welcome from the landlord. If you possibly can, you MUST visit this pub!

What could be better on a hot summer's day than to sit outside in this idyllic spot and get quietly Brahms and Listz? (provided you have a non-drinking driver with you, of course!). Perfection!

Great little pub. Perfect for meeting friends in the day as it is in a lovely location (just by the river). Also great in the evening for young people like me as it attracts loads of similar aged people!

Amazing place, well worth finding (much easier by boat or on foot than by car). Good beer, excellent food and service. Real country Pub gem.

A truly great pub, the main whitewashed older part of the pub does not have any electicity but a generator does provide electric for the annexe when bands play. How do i review such a fantastic pub . well, guttering candles provide the only lighting in the pub "proper", the pub is owned ( seemingly0 by the Green Jack Brewery from Lowestoft tho' the pub does guest beers from other breweries most notably Oakham ( the two breweries have some kind of pact). The pub itself is very small and is hard to locate and is often in accessible by motorised vehicle ( flooding),the customers are mainly walkers and canal boat users.the service is top hole. Usually six beers are available from Green Jack plus a guest. This pub just has to be visited to be believed.
