What a pretty thatched country pub. I stopped in for a coffee yesterday morning . Nice selection of ales. I didn't have anything to eat but the food looked good coming out. I will try some next time. Real coffee served by happy staff, very rare. Well worth a visit PubPaull - 18 Apr 2013 10:21
Open now for a year, food ok and beer straight from the barrel, very nice. Beermuff - 18 Apr 2013 09:19
Drove past the other day and it had a 'For Sale' sign out front. This building was (or is) owned by Mentor Inns. Being the total bunch of rip off artists that they are it's no doubt it's for sale. I doubt the last Licensees could afford to pay their high rent demands!!! I hope they got out of it 'intact'. Hopefully someone will buy this pub and run it the way it's ment to run. It has got great potential and located so close to the famous 'Burrow Hill Cider Farm'. wolvesfan - 1 Jan 2012 16:25

Had lunch here today. Husband and Wife team could not have been friendlier. The place looked very smart and clean and my pint of Cheddar Ales Potholer was in excellent condition. We both had the soup of the day, wild mushroom and thyme, and it was delicious. One main of braised beef and another of pork belly were also first class as was the dish of fresh mixed veg. The newish owners seem to be doing a great job and deserve to make this a successful little country pub mangelwurzler - 21 Jan 2010 16:44
