Recently underwent a refurb and re-opened mid Feb 2010. It's a GK Hungry Horse pub with a good layout. It now has a distinct "pub" type area, TV's etc showing sport next to the outdoor seating /smoking section. Further down the pub is a little more private with booths some with mini TV screens. The food has always been good value from this chain, if a little generic. We had a Sunday roast, and whilst not the hottest (some other diners made comments) - and not all fresh ingredients, it hit the spot for the price. (16 for two large plates and a pint and a half.) Food served all day unlike some of the more expensive and more rustic options out in the wilds of Berkshire. The staff were attentive, friendly and prompt. Would probably try their Mon-Fri 2 meals for 8 another time. There is a lot of competition in this market and in this postcode ! What with Sizzler / Harvester / Beefeater etc.

Straight forward well run GK pub . Only Speckled Hen on tap when I visited for an evening meal. Plain meal well cooked at a cheap price. The staff were friendly and on the ball and locals well behaved.
All told , a pleasant but ordinary stop, but that in itself is sometimes all you need.

Biggish Greene King pub, was serving Abbott and the Christmas seasonal Rockin Rudolph, which were OK.

Farily tidy inside, but fairly forgettable really in the way that many corporatised GK pubs are.

The quizzer wants to pay though...
