Busy bar with live music on Thursday evening. Food looked good, and decent range of ales.

if you find yourself in Scarborough and want some quality ales, this is a good place to try. quite a walk from the centre. They brew their own beer, Scarborough Brewery, is I remember correctly. 5 or 6 ales on.

3rd pub on my lightning tour of Scarborough, again great selection of ale and very decent atmosphere for a snowy Tuesday night.

A gem of a place this, much nicer than some of the more "touristy" pubs in town, & definately worth the 10 minute walk from the seafront. Good and varied mix of clientel, both young & old. Quite during the day (tho it was a Thurs pm in November) but very busy when we returned on the Saturday evening when the excellant live band The Shamrockers had everyone tapping and singing along.

Nice enough inside, various SIB beers all in good form. Food was much nicer than the price or location might suggest. TV in one half, quieter in other. Well worth a visit. Easy to miss if in car.
(If there's still a contradictory posting from me below it's because I got the pubs mixed up!).
