More like a restaurant than a pub, Dark Star OK, staff friendly enough.

Astonished to hear brucelambert charged 24 to bring his birthday cake in - really ? Sounds like one for the press to me.

Three visits in the last 6 weeks , twice for meals and once for a beer.

Superb food, great beer try the Dark Star Over the Moon if its on, Hophead as a fall back.

Nice location, great beer garden in a very quiet village. Good staff to look after you, what more can you ask for? Just dont look down as you come through the main door. The well is deep.

Latest visit was with a group of 11 people and the chef still managed to get the food to the table at the same time, with no issues. The menu changes regularly and there is always a different Sunday lunch menu. The roast beef is to die for. I really do envy the folks of Warninglid who have this as a local

I cant understand why this place is so popular.
It used to be good when it started but has become overpriced and the service has deteriorated.
I recently went for Sunday lunch with a large group. We were charged 24 for a birthday cake which we brought ourselves to the restaurant. When one of us objected she was told she was now barred. The Manager was so unpleasant that none of us will ever go back again.
The food was good on this occasion (if overpriced) and the service fair but the previous two meals I have had there were dreadful and I only went this time because our Walking group wanted to meet there. One to avoid.

Looks good from the outside. Neat and contrived decor on the inside. Reasonable food but over priced. Beer was uninspiring, nothing from local breweries. Shame!

Is this pub still owned by Mark and Chris White? Is Matt still the chef?
