Much to admire in this GBG 2020 entry.... detailed as a Bar Restaurant.

Separate restaurant to drinking area
Drinking area has a proper old school feel to it
Wooden partitions, large glass windows to watch the world go by
five hand pulls on - all around £3.30
Ramsbury Farmers Best an unusual pint - perfect condition.
Perfectly positioned between the Abbey and the Market Square.

Nice to see eating area and bar totally separated with different entrances. The rough and ready bar was populated with older blokes who all seemed absorbed with the day's horse racing. Ale on offer was decent enough and well kept and it's probably your best bet for ales in the town.

Enjoyable pub and beer. Just sit in the window, drink your pint and watch the Malmesbury world go by:)

An excellent local hostelry, with a good beer range. Food is variable - based on the dozen or so times I have eaten there, I would say a quarter were not of the same standard as the other three quarters - differing chefs perhaps? There is no music in the pub, which will be a benefit for some and a negative for others. The service is good, and as previous posters have mentioned, it's location in the Market Cross and large frontal windows give excellent opportunities to people watch. Sadly no garden.
