| We stayed here for the night and it was okay, but I'm rating this as a pub and not a hotel. Only giving it a 4 because on the day we visited there were only two of the 6 pumps on and they had run out of Captain Morgan's rum....on a Saturday lunchtime!! | If you're looking for a pub with a beautiful riverside garden, this is the place to be!. The pub has a very long garden, with decking and picnic benches all along the river and scattered all over the garden. Out of all the riverside pubs I have been to, this is the most beautiful in my opinion. I have visited this pub on many occasions and it has such a relaxed family atmosphere. During the summer months, it is just as pleasant sitting outside until late in the evening, when everything is lit up!. You can even have a boat trip if this takes your fancy! (although, unsure of costs). The inside is very modern and classy, although I was sad to see it change from the olde worlde pub it used to be - it had so much character, artifacts hanging from the ceiling etc...it all reflected the history of this public house. I feel that the modern look has taken that away, but maybe I feel that way because I had many memories with family in this pub during the time it was olde worlde. The food back then was out of this world, not sure what it's like now, but worth a try just to sit out in the lovely beer garden :-). | I have seen an article in the current edition of the Morning Advertiser, regarding river trips for up to twelve persons a time from this pub. | This pub is in a lovely riverside setting, perfect for a sunny afternoon. Beer was ok, but not brilliant compared to normal Shepherd Neame standards. I wouldn't recommend ordering food, however, unless you're extremely patient and have time to kill. They have a rather complicated ordering system where you have to order your drinks at the bar, then order food at another counter, but if you're paying on card you can only pay at the bar. The food itself, though tasty, was over-priced, took almost an hour to come out, and wasn't as described in the menu (in the case of 3 out of the 4 meals we ordered!).
