This was once a reasonable pub, but has gone badly downhill.

Three of us (one disabled) visited at lunchtime the other day. We found the pub virtually empty. Even so, the only three disabled spaces in the large (pay-and-display!) pub car park were all occupied and we had to wait ages to be served because problems with another customer's order seemed to be occupying every member of the bar staff.

Two of us eventually got the food they ordered (though one was disappointed to be told that sandwiches could only be on white bread) but they got the third order (mine) completely wrong. We were told the correct food would be brought, but it didn't appear. After about half an hour, we decided to leave and I asked for my money back. The barman said he'll have to get the manager to sort it out. When he eventually appeared, there was no semblance of an apology and he tried to make out we hadn't paid for the food anyway. Fortunately, the till records said otherwise and the manager grudgingly gave me some money back.

Won't be going there again!

Being new to the area and having enjoyed some great beer in some lovely pubs in the area I thought that this place was going to live up to my great expectations. However on both occasions that I have been in I have been shocked by the attitude of the staff. On both occasions it has been a female member of staff who is obviously only interested in "preparing for the next day" and not actually interested in the customer on the day in question. I should have learned my lesson after the first time. My brother had come to visit and I wanted to show off the great pubs we had here in beaconsfield, instead he was met with drunken young men falling about, and an aggressive attitude from a member of staff who obviously couldn't close quick enough. If its any consolation The gents behind the bar caused me no concern and where having a joke around etc but were still professional. Needless to say I won't be drinking or eating here again, and will not recommend it to anyone. There is a nice pub across the road!

Popped in here on a Friday night with no expectations. You can't argue with Bitter n Twisted and Doom Bar on pump, both at 2.60. The former in 10/10 condition. Roomy and comfortable with big tables so ideal for bigger groups. Obviously a food place but who cares, was there for the beer.

Very busy with diners when I visited on Sunday afternoon, but barman was quick and friendly and the pint of Doom Bar was in good condition and, at 2.60, reasonably priced for the area. Only problem was finding a seat!
