Been back twice now after a long absence and had great food both times. Really friendly pub with good beer and nice atmosphere. Charming restaurant right next to the river and when the weather is warmer I'll no doubt be found enjoying a drink on their riverside patio.
Well done Iain and the team.

Massive improvement from old times, much nicer decor, good food menu but above all else the beer was great! Friendly staff and came across very knowledgable about menu's and their drinks. Thumbs up!

This pub is under new management. We had lunch there last Sunday. The food was very good , simple but well cooked and good ingredients. We had pheasant and duck breast, which were both excellent and a nice bottle of Chilean red wine. The puddings were good too.The waitresses were very helpful and courteous. I will definitely go back as it was the best restaurant meal I have had in a year or so.

Sept.09. Popped in for a quick pint or two. Didn't eat, but looked at menu. Butts (local) Barbus Barbus excellent and well-kept. Bar staff perhaps a little wet behind the ears, but helpful enough. Not cheap by any stretch, though. Looked at menu and gorped at others' food -- seemed okay, but unexciting. Probably fine. Masses of tables, all neat and tidy and looked clean and well-presented. Staff seemed good overall. Garden/patio area overlooking brook and with lovely willow tree. This pub clearly has huge potential but has always failed for some reason (I'm not particularly local so can't explain why). Let's hope it has better luck this time. Seemed fairly family-friendly.
Overall we were very satisfied, but can't comment on the food, really.

Went for a quick beer on a Sunday afternoon. Large village pub, pretty tatty inside and out. Does do local beer (Butts) which wasn't bad. OK if you're passing by and you're thirsty, but (based on my short visit) not worth making an effort to go to,
