Another Harvey's pub in Brighton, quite close to the station. We stayed in the front bar and ordered from the Sussex Best Bitter, IPA, Old Ale, Armada & Christmas Ale. I finally relented and went for the Best. There was no sign of a real cider.

Always go here when visiting. Lovely old fashion pub with good food and full range of Harveys including Old on our visit. Just a few yards from the station.

Good old fashioned English pub, but with a cosmopolitan Brighton charm. Harvey's beers only, but a choice of 6, so fine by me, but it takes the score down from an 8! Busy early evening so a bit of a wait for food, but the bar staff explained this as soon as She had put my order to the chef.30 mins to wait is really not an issue. This is the type of pub that makes it worth the walk up from the town. It's close to the train station and amongst a number of good pubs.

Stank of paint when I visited a month ago. Good bitter. Full of Brighton & Hove Albion memorabilia, so aiming for the pre-match crowd.

Visited on Friday 24 January with Bill and Rog. Overpowering smell of paint as the inside and out are being done up. There was drying paint in the left hand bar where we sat and quite a few people in the lower bar and the ghastly excrescence at the rear, presumably to get away from the paint! Beer was ok I had the Hadlow/Pale/IPA or whatever it's called this week and the Old which was much better than last time, and we ate here as well and soon got used to the paint smell. Unfortunately with the bare walls now devoid of any decoration there was an acoustic effect which made our bad language resonate rather loudly! Friendly and chatty barman who answered our questions about the redecoration with cheerfulness. I hope the food menu is more extensive than the good but limited fare currently on offer. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the refurb is complete.
