Donnington pub - so knew what I would be getting - delightful location, picture postcard perfect in setting and location.

Terrible beer - and this really was beyond the pale. Donningtons is poor at the best of times but the 1/2 pint of SBA I had was beyond bad. It had only just opened, so I can only assume its either not been pulled through or its very badly kept.

Shame. 7 for the pub, 2 for the beer.

I loved this plain but cosy Donnington Brewery country pub.

Got totally soaked on a round trip walk from Stow, and spent about 2 hours and several pints of Donnington's SBA and Stowford Prees cider whilst drying off.

Sat out back the following Saturday enjoying the banter of 10 or so local men.
I offered to buy a loaf of bread from the man who supplies bread to the pubs in the area. He was kind enough to give it to me free of charge.
If he ever reads this, I'd just like to tell him, that it's the best bread I've ever had ... amazingly good.
Please contact me through this website and arrange to get a few couriered to london.

Well worth a few visits this pub. Would like to see what it's like in the evening.

Visited on 24/3/12 just before lunch. This was my first ever pint of Donningtons and I found it a bit caramelly for my taste but it was perfectly drinkable. Slightly shabby inside (without being chic) but it was OK. Fine if you are walking the Heart of England Way and need a refreshment stop but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit here again.

Locals pub (darts, quiz night, Aunt Sally) but welcoming to visitors. Has that slightly old-fashioned Donningtons look, but is actually a relaxing and welcoming place for a drink. Two small bars plus a dining room, Donningtons Beers (its just two miles from the brewery) so a lovely pint of cheap real ale. OK pub food without being special. Recently started opening all day.
