A cosy downstairs bar, usually with a small but well kept selection of cask ales and friendly landlord.

Pleasant, cosy bar with a friendly welcome and interesting range of beers. The tiny front terrace is an excellent afternoon suntrap. 8/10.

As a newcomer to this site was very surprised in the ignorance of some of the other reviews! As a regular visitor to the place I have seen the tiny cellar and understand that due to limited space and the nature of real ale (needing to settle) there isn't always three beers on but the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about what they sell,I would suggest mildmutley stick to weatherspoons or Sam Smith's pubs!

Disappointing given its GBG report, but in keeping with reviews on here. Only two beers on; no wonder it was quiet for a weekend. The two they had on weren't particularly good and the landlord wasn't particularly friendly. There are much better pubs in Hull.

Bar in a cellar serving unusual ales and ciders. had a nice enough pint of Aerosol. It is a good one ofr the cider heads as there seemed to be as many draught ciders as ales.
