user reviews of Lord Haig, Hertford

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Fairly basic pub with a traditional interior, located about half-way between Hertford East railway station and the town centre. Three handpumps, with one off and the other two dispensing AK (which was OK, and fairly cheap at 2.60). The barman was friendly enough, and the other customers didn't seem too fussed about having a stranger drop by.

A Mc Mullens community pub which does make an effort to put on live entertainment at the weekend.Traditional wood pannelled interior with an open plan layout,a relief from the trendy bars in the area. However the pub is badly let down by the ale quality,my Country bitter had a nasty tang despite being clear and the AK was dull as always. When will Macs learn ?

I cannot believe that this place hasnt been commented on before. I thought that the governor was very friendly and the locals were great with a small group jamming on there guitars in the corner and a dart match was going on meaning that the jukebox was redundant. Sky sports is advertised and I spotted a TV and projector which was good to see for this side of town.

Unsurprisingly for the area only AK and Country were available alongside a standard draught selection, but my Guinness was well served.

I liked it in here and would choose this place over its neighbouring peers.
