| had a fantastic meal here this evening, couldnt understand why it wasnt busier!? perfect, infact amazing food, well kept cask ales (Freddie Truemans by copper dragon of skipton) all served by friendly, well mannered staff! this place needs to be shouted about from the rooftops! we shall definately return again and again! charlie2010 - 11 Nov 2010 00:35 |
| Smart village pub, with a formal restaurant to one side and a largish bar to the other separated by a central fireplace . The bar serves well kept Black Sheep Bitter and Golden Sheep plus York Guzzler and Taylors Best, I believe as guests. It is decorated in traditional village pub style with plain walls at one end and wood panelling at the other, tasteful country sports type pictures and brassware complete the look; it appears to be two rooms which have been knocked into one. There are quarry tiles and genuine looking ancient beams, the bay windows are a nice place to sit, enjoy a pint and soak up the friendly atmosphere. The staff are unobtrusive and professional but friendly.
