slightly back street pub, seems to be very food orientated Saturday afternoon. Beer in good condition though and reasonably priced.

The most reliable pub in St Ives over the past 30 years. Easy enough to find if you follow the Quay from the chantry bridge, and an attractive old frontage. Plenty of exposed wood in the front bar and not a bad menu. Good beers, some of which are less common, and usually a draught local cider too. Covers backyard drinking area and the tokens mean that the beer price becomes more reasonable. All in all, the one to head for in this town.

A pleasant enough old pub down by the river with average bar to front and refurbed area to rear. Had a pint of a seasonal Woodforde brew that was nice enough if nothing special.

Had a trip out from Cambridge to St Ives on the infamous guided bus, had a look around and this pub was easily the best we could find. Definitely worth a look, good selection of real ales and bottled beers.

Further to my post of 29 Jan 11 ref price of beer. I was being a bit unfair - there is usually a 'credit crunch' real ale which is 50p cheaper than the other ales. Also the pub runs a token scheme between 1700 and 1900 during the week, basically between these times, when a pint is purchased you get a 50p 'Olly' token as well as your normal change. These 'Ollies' can be spent at any time - not just during the promotion times.
