Now called The Old Commercial Inn reverting back to it's original name.

To be honest I was expecting better. The fire was not lit and no atmosphere whatsoever.

It does have four excellent ales on but not a pub to go out of your way for.

5/10

Very happy to agree with John_Oscar here. A friendly local pub with decent ales and a lovely atmosphere. Everything a village pub should be. Note, contrary to BITE's database, it's in Bishopsteignton not Teignmouth !

This pub has gone from strength to strength since it was bought by Tom and Yvonne in October 2013 (Davercox your comment was 2 months late). Suppose I am a little biased as it is my local, but I cannot remember having a better local. They have Jail, Otter and Doombar on permanently with between 1 & 3 Guest Ales as well. Add to that Leffe, Cobra and Stoford Press cider and most should be happy. They have just started Sunday lunches. BT Sport is available with football and Rugby (Chiefs) regularly on. Real local feel but a warm welcome for anyone coming for a first visit. If this sounds like an advert then it isn't. I just think a good new pub should get a worthwhile review.

Up for sale I believe.

Recently became a Free House run by Tom & Yvonne. Now a much improved village pub with loads of character - 4 well kept bitters: Jail, Otter, 6X and a guest. Dog friendly.
