| We were looking for a proper country pub on a January Sunday lunchtime -- not for food but to relax after a ramble with the papers and a good pint. A couple of other nearby pubs had given over all their space to diners so it was a relief to find the Cherington Arms where there was a proper bar area separate from the restaurant. There was a warm welcome from the bar staff and well-kept Hook Norton Twelve Days (which obviously won't be around all year). Good atmosphere, including dogs and children, in an attractive village.
