This pub has just recently closed within the last month. Will upload a photo. Another London pub gone, and with that all its history. Lets hope that its re-opened again with some refurbishment that might keep it alive. But I suspect that it will be a Tesco Metro or something more hideous instead.

I love this place. It's almost retro - if it were in Shoreditch it would be full of painfully trendy urbanites. But it's neither. The threadbare carpet and ageing furniture are countered by the loveley Irish barman and the horse racing chat. There's no real ale but then that's very Irish. Go and enjoy a working class Shepherds Bush pub before it becomes a gastropub. Don't take a girl on a date here.

It's very easy to keep walking when you pass this place due to the dubious crowd of lurkers smoking outside each door. However, if you venture inside this wedge-shaped pub you will find two bars, both very tatty and basic. There is a jukebox in the back bar (which, if you have a really vivid imagination, you might call the lounge). That's about it for decoration, although there is some original tiling in the gents toilet. No real ale, of course, so it's a quick pint of John Smith's Smooth (£2.90) before moving swiftly on.

Frankly the most unwelcoming, dirtiest, pub I have ever been to. Anywhere. No attempt whatsovever to make you feel welcome. Filthy carpets, no decor, no machines. no armchairs, no curtains, no nothing. Just a filthy carpet, couple of dirty stools, a trellis table and three knackered old chairs. THe landlord was a salt of the earth Irishman, so we stayed for a very swift half and left quickly.
