We try to support this pub whenever in the area, because it is a simple village pub of the sort that ought to be supported.
BUT...Last time we went the lines were being cleared and we had to wait ages for a beer.
This time we could not get lunch (told after we had the beer poured) as the kitchen staff were all on a course. This is poor, particularlry on a Friday.
Reluctantly I think we are at the giving up stage.

Went there yesterday to see local acoustic duo "Mouth On A Stick" (who were excellent BTW). Decent selection of beers, very jolly landlord and friendly locals in a pub with some real character.

Really should use this pub more often, its only down the road!

Good, solid local with absolutely no pretensions of trying to be anything but a decent local. The beer is well looked after and the food is plentiful in the way pub food always used to be - ham, egg and chips a staple dish, which in today's 'is it a pub or is it a restaurant' world is refreshing to see.

I will be interested to see how Punch Taverns plan to refurbish this good old boozer.
