Great location of course.

But just way way too swanky for me.

The Crabshell's new owners (of 2 years) have done a superb job of improving standards whilst retaining the laid back atmosphere which both locals and visitors both enjoy. Four real ales, including the superb St Austell's Proper Job, and a good menu including freshly made pizzas from a traditional oven. There are few more attractive places in England to enjoy a pint than sitting overlooking the unspoiled estuary. Only criticism - London prices.

The owner doesnt take constructive critisizm well, and is actually rude and confrontational when problems arise Unbelievably, he even went to check his CCTV to confirm when a food order was actually placed, as he disputed our claims! Shame because his bar manager does a good job. Owner seemed caught out by high demand for food in his pub that is waterside, on a sunny evening, during half term! Not great management! There are other places in the area that do a better job - The Millbrook at South Pool for example......

Well, I m truly glad that I wasnt able to check this place out online before visiting! Took a punt and decided to eat here while on holiday with my son during half term. Simply blown away.
At first glance a very basic but clean interior, with functional rather than comfy seating. managed to get a table for two in spite of most tables being reserved. Service was attentive but not pushy (in spite of us needing to vacate the table by a set time), as for the food.................Simply Stunning!

Slightly run down pub in nice location but outside seating is effectively in car park.Beer was good and well kept but the attitude of the staff was atrocious! It was about 4.30 pm when we were attracted in by a sign saying "Food served all Day". When we got to the pub there was one sign saying food served from 5.00 and another saying food served from 5.30. When I pointed this out I was answered very rudely from a man I took to be the landlord. We were in a hurry so my friend went in the bar a little later to ask if we could order food to be served when the kitchen opened. He was answered rudely by a woman member of staff so we promptly left.I'm sure business is not easy to come by and with this attitude this pub will not last long!
