user reviews of Noel Arms Hotel, Chipping Campden

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Small cosy bar accessed via the hotel's coffee shop. Didn't feel as upmarket as some of the town's other hostelries but cetrtainly not basic either. Almost every table was taken so we had to sit at one of the tables situated in the middle of the room. Old Hooky, North Cotswold Shagweaver and Clavell & Hind Blunderbuss Pale Ale were the 3 handpulls today - I tried the Blunderbuss simply because I hadn't heard of the brewery before and it was very good.

There aren't many 'proper' pubs in this lovely village but this hotel bar is an exceptionally cosy and relaxing place to enjoy a well kept pint from a wide choice of real ales. Probably the best option in the area.

Although this is the bar for the Noel Arms Hotel, it's a good little place for real ale. The bar has quite a warm feel with 3 real ales on handpump, including the Purity brand, which is quite common around here. There was also a small barrel of Hook Norton "Twelve Days" for dispensing from the bar which had excellent flavour but was just a little warm and could have done with being a couple of degrees cooler, but top marks for serving it. Definitely worth a visit.
