user reviews of the Prince of Wales, Paddington

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Average London boozer - single, rather drab, large room with horseshoe-shaped bar, TV and pool table. Only two cask ales on offer, the ubiquitous London Pride and Sharps Doombar at typical London prices. Selection of draught lagers and bottled beers but nothing special. You can sit outside with the smokers along two sides of the pub on a selection of benches and tables along one side and tables and chairs on the other (although beware of the latter as the outer chairs are filthy!).

Acceptable if there's nowhere else to go but nothing special sadly.

A hidden gem. Overlook the quality of the beer and know what to expect and you will enjoy it:

Weekdays : Really good Thai food, 'average' beers on tap, and lots of advertising kids braying like recalcitrant donkeys.

Weekends: The Mongolian Social Centre of London - authentic home-made Mongolian food and drink (tea). The Mongolians are well-behaved, keep to themselves and interesting to talk to if you open them up. The food is great, albeit mongolian, meaning it isn't for vegetarians.

This is actually one of my favourite pubs in London, but I don't come here for the beer.

Shockingly bad pub. From the outside it looks like a dive and once you get in you're even more dissappointed. Smells funny and the landlady has a massive chip on her shoulder (I witnessed her giving short shrift to a bloke who said his beer was off...he may have been talking out of his bum but she was plain rude in her response). If you took away the DDB (advertising agency) employees there'd be no-one in here.

DDB is a bloody good agency but I wish they wouldn't drink in such a rubbish pub. Plenty better boozers in Paddington.
