| My partner and I highly rate this pub for a number of reasons. Namely, a great location overlooking Tunbridge Wells, a fab beer garden, lovely interior, great food and fun and friendly staff. With all this in mind we decided to have our wedding there and were not disappointed. The staff were all fantastic, they decorated it beautifully, the food was loved by everyone, the band they recommended went down a storm and the costing for it all was extremely fair which is more than I can say for most other wedding venues! All in all, it was a fantastic day. Sundays are also a great day to head to this pub. They do the best sunday roast and they have live music in the evenings. Great atmosphere! | This is a well decorated and comfy venue which incoporates a small hotel, eatery and bar area tucked away of the main road in the upper part of Tunbridge Wells common. The service is good with some nice food available if a little pricey and there is often live music Sunday evenings (though dont expect a full electric band with drums and a pa) For the smokers among you the beer garden is a real treat . The venue does, at the time of writing, have a somewhat alternative "rainbow" patronage catering for the Tunbridge Wells area depending on the time of visit. ivanski - 29 Jul 2010 16:22 |
| We have only just returned from a few years away from the Mount Edgcumbe. The outside is very clean and tidy, it is well looked after - they have painted inside and out. We were told by our friends that the steaks were good - they are better than that - they are fantastic. The bar menu is very good too. There are loads of lagers on draught, alongside the traditional Harveys bitter. The wines are kept perfectly chilled for a hot summers day. The beer garden has got to be the best in Tunbridge Wells, as it is only a short walk up from the town. The new umbrellas shade you from the sun, but have they also have heaters to keep the chill off in the evening. Inside in the bar there is real cave you can sit and drink in also. A real secret for Tunbridge Wells that i have to share! The locals are friendly, ans so too are the staff. hunttilly - 28 Jun 2010 16:52 |
