user reviews of the Bell Hotel, Aylesbury

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Komakino's summary of 8th April is spot-on. The layout does at least allow you to escape the less desirables in the main. My occasional visits are usually in the daytime and the barstaff invariably are welcoming and helpful. This particular Wetherspoons is still much better than certain other branches in Oxford, Banbury and Reading amongst others.

Not your standard 'Spoons drinking hanger. Retains clever use of the old rooms, so retains more of a traditional pub atmosphere. Good beer & cheap. I'll be back when I next visit

Old worlde ‘Spoons on Aylesbury’s market square. The selling point here is probably the interior as the Bell Hotel has stood for many a year and still retains many of its original nooks and crannies. The ale selection is wide – 8 handpumps on – the Tring Brewery beer I had (I think it was Bring Me Sunshine) was on good form at a reasonable price (£1.99) and the TV tuned onto Sky News gave a welcome distraction from some of the less than salubrious clientele.

Benefit collecting pub with customers who have a combined IQ of zero.

First visit here for a mid-week lunch. Looks to be one of the better Spoons. Bright-ish, quiet and reasonably clean.
One table did have enough food under it to feed a family of four for a week. Maybe a slight exaggeration there. Yes, the mess should have been cleaned up, but what I want to know is - what bunch of morons made it? What does their home look like?
Our food was ok but I wish they hadn't put the cutlery on the plate - the serviette was soaking up my gravy!
Beers amongst others were Loddons Ferrymans Gold and Trings Fanny Ebbs.
