Now known as the Tavi Inn and refurbished in 2021 apparently in a bistro style although it felt like a somewhat basic commercial hotel to me. It is essentially one room with a bar in front of you as you walk in with some tables to the left and more of a drinking area to the right. Sandwiches were cheap and unpretentious; the Jail Ale at £4.80 was good (didn't try the Purity Mad Goose) as was the service.

Town centre pub with one bar. Number of tables scattered around ready for food service. An eclectic collection of memorabilia on the walls and shelves.

Pleasant welcome with one ale on tap.. a local brew from Holsworthy brewery.

Decent pub deserving support

Stayed here - a B&B that doesn't do breakfast. In fact, there was a sign saying the Chef was ill - so no food at all. Tripadvisor suggests the illness has been going on sometime.

Jail Ale was in good condition and for £60 for a family room, can't complain at the prices.

This pub is now under new management, since the last comments, present landlord said he had been there about a year. Beer (Doombar) was good and the food was good though not outstanding, the menu seems to be rather Wetherspoons inspired.
The landlord needs to improve his customer service skills, especially when it comes to table waiting.

I agree with the comments in the previous post. My pint of Jail was the first from a new barrel. The landlord checked it a couple of times and told me if it wasn't perfect he would change it. It was perfect but his attitude impressed me
