Absolute gem, four ales on Double Top Golden Arrow, Buxton Moor Top, Castle Rock Screetch Owl and Eight Arch Quarter Jack Stout (all the way from Dorset - just moved from there!) which was excellent. Has four festivals a year, definitely a return visit is needed, opens at 4pm most weekdays. Exit to platform is ok.

Small micropub in the station buildings at Worksop. The main entrance is from the car-park, but it’s also possible to exit directly onto the platform – though I’m not sure how official that is ! Very relaxed atmosphere, with just half a dozen tables bestrewed with CAMRA literature, but you can also choose to sit at a couple of tables outside. Has 4 or 5 (mostly) local beers on handpump, including one or two from their own Double Top brewery. I tried the Dukeries Pale Ale, which definitely lived up to its name, and the Double Top Old Stoneface, an absolutely gorgeous 6% stout. Toilets require a keycode.

This has been a steady real ale pub for many years now. Very cosy inside, you'd be lucky to get 30 people in. Beer is usually good but can be variable, particularly their own Double Top beers. Pretty expensive especially when compated to the Grafton. Seems to attract a lot of strange characters this place, some may find that undesirable. 8/10.

Also of note just across the road is The Station Hotel, very friendly and welcoming and our group enjoyed excellent value for money food. I had as superb steak pie and sampled some fine real ales. (4 guest ales) I can't see it listed so apologies for mentioning it here. Again we will be back for another visit, not least because of the friendly welcome.

Enjoyed two visits to this pub today, the first when our group arrived by train and the second before departing after visiting some other real ale gems in the area. On both occasions the barmaid serving, was very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed some excellent ales. I finished off with a Hamels Worde Spanish Stout 4.2% which was on fine form. We shall definitely be back!
