Every town needs a Wetherspoons and Newquay is no exception.

It is just about the most average Wetherspoons I have been in. Fairly normal in every way. Not great for disabled access though.

Whilst we didn't see much of Newquay, I did pop in the local Wetherspoons. It's a large place. But as with many, it seems to suffer with failure to keep tables cleared. Nearly every table had glasses and left over food on them. They lost business from a large group of 10 as they couldn't stand the smell of some soiled nappies in the one corner. That probably says a lot about the clientele too. The ale selection was reasonable - Exmoor Fox & Hound Dog, Sixpoint Make It Rain, Cornish Crown St Michael's, Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best, Keltek KIng & Harbour India Pale Ale. The cider was Black Dragon. Has a nice patio at the front overlooking the busy road.

A nice big W/spoons.

went in about 4pm, nice range of beers ( as usual for a spoons)

had some ok fish and chips, staff were chatting to the customers.

There may be better pubs in Newquay, but if you can get the same brews
here, and cheaper, why bother.

I can do without anchors , ships lanterns, and pictures of long John Silver.

Not a lot on offer for this big place, but the outside area makes up for it. The manager runs a tight ship. Magik 4% guest ale.

Had a four night stay in Newquay at the end of March 2012. This is a really nice pub for real ale and food at really cheap prices I made full use of their selection of real ales during their month long beer festival.
