Excellent micropub. I went in for one half and ended up trying all 5 beers that were on. Very friendly and well worth a visit.

The Beer Engine was my favourite pub in Skipton. It's a micropub, easily missed as it's tucked away in an alleyway. It was fairly busy on my Sunday evening visit. But luckily I secured a table before too many arrived. Ales and ciders are dispensed from barrels in a refrigerated cabinet behind the bar. The ale selection was Mallinsons Motueka, Springhead Outlawed, Dark Horse Craven Bitter, Roosters The Accomplice & Stockport Stock Porter. Ciders were Westons Cider Twist Raspberry & Gwynt y Ddraig Farmhouse Scrumpy. Friendly staff. Recommended.

Skipton's 1st micro pub and a tick from the 2016 GBG.

5 cask ales on the pumps, I had a pint of Navigation's Eclipse @ 3.9%. All ales are stored in a cool room visible behind the bar. There's also a decent range of bottled ales, with Belgian and American available.

Busy with plenty of chatter going on, no piped or cd music, no TV and no fruit machines, those of you that know micropubs know that this is the norm.

Stopped for 1 drink before moving on, nice but didn't quite hit the spot with me.

Great microtubules. Five hand pumps. One blonde/pale ale and one dark beer, plus a still and fruit cider. The beers are stored in refrigerated cabinets behind the bar. Warm friendly atmosphere.
