user reviews of the Taproom, Woolwich

It's not obvious how to reach this bar, as much of this are is under construction. I seemed to take a bit of a detour around the back of the Dial Arch to get to it. But it's directly opposite the Woolwich Market bus stops. In truth, I was disappointed with this place, which is now branded as Taproom SE18. They only had one cask ale - Burning Sky Plateau. Most of the craft beers were from Hop Stuff themselves. But, only the stout stood out for me. There were also 2 from Villages and 1 from Moor. I opted for the Pavement Press English Cider, which was a new one for me. But I'd have preferred a real cider. Considering I came to Woolwich to visit this place especially, it was a major disappointment.

Great beer as you'd expect from a tap room, full range of Woolwich's own Hop Stuff ales and some lovely pizzas, some decent places to drink now in Woolwich with the Gate house now open, might make the Dial Arch pull their socks up as I think they'd started to think of them self's as the only place in Woolwich and take their custom for granted

Right, its a tap room not a pub. Be prepared for the minimalist surroundings. That said, it is bloody brilliant. Around 20 lines of keg and cask. It is Hop Stuff's tap so their beers get the well deserved priority. They also stock a good range of local London brewers, both on tap and in bottle. Their pizzas are as good if not better than the ones Brewdog in Camden used to do. The biggest surprise is it ain't over priced like the Dial Arch & Equitable. Well worth the visit.
