| Has the feel of a country pub on the edge of the city. The ale (mostly local) and the cider are well kept, with a good variety on offer. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Historic and cosy inside, and its probably pleasant to sit out at the front in summer. richythemole - 12 Mar 2018 18:10 |
| This really is an excellent 'country' pub serving an ever changing selection of real ales along with a very impressive selection of ciders and perries. The pub won the Mid Essex CAMRA Cider poub of the year award in 2015. Food is excellent and locally sourced. Only a couple or three miles from the city centre but definitely worth a visit.
