THIS PLACE HAS SHUT. It is all boarded up, chances are it will be replaced by flats or the like. Was always half empty, poor inattentive service, dodgy area.

Mate and I were in for a few on Wednesday lunchtime...The only customers....The barmaid and her friends (and a baby) were watching daytime TV on the wrong side of the bar, so as we were an inconvenience the service was brusque....The beer choice was limited and not cheap...Barmaid went back to her friends...We went to The Oval!

This could be a nice pub, it's a nice building with all the makings but if prospective new regulars wanting to spend money are made to feel this unwanted it has no chance "in the current climate". I hope we had an off day because we need to keep our pubs open.

i think this is a really good pub not too sure on the new owners i think they are a bit young. he thinks he is a bit of a jack the lad type but she is ok. its a regulars pub but outsiders very welcome as long as they dont bring trouble in as the regulars will stick toger and there may be trouble..the beer is lager is great and at a fair price. i shall continue to drink here.

Locales feel pub... big enough, has a bit of atmosphere

But badly kept booze, which when I asked for a swap, I received another pint of... badly kept booze

Wouldn't be too much in a rush to return for this reason

A mixed bag - friendly enough down-to-earth atmosphere on the plus side.

On the down-side both beers were undrinkable. If you walk in a pub and see most people drinking lager don't touch the beer.

I would return for a Guinness or a lager but would not touch any of the ales on tap.
