More of a staging post for going up east with Daaaaaaaaaavid and Swiss Toni.

Last orders called at 10.45. Told to leave the pub at 1105 along with everyone else. Allowed to finish our drinks outside. TV turned off at 11 so unable to watch Olympic highlights.

Plus side speckled hen was good but this no way made up for a horror story.

I think it appeals as a sports bar but it does do half decent beer. It is a station pub so it can be overrun with people.

I've rated them 6. It would be a four but they earned two bonus points because they opened the day after the IRA blew up Bishopsgate even though the area was an utter shambles and they'd lost every pane of glass in their windows. Respect to the publican on that alone.

I passed a fairly agreeable couple of hours after work in here this week, talking cricket with a mate. Only tried the IPA, which was fine. A bit on the dark and dingy side if I'm totally honest, but otherwise a pretty good place for a couple of beers on a weekday evening.

A friend and I chose to mingle amongst the Essex geezers in here to watch the Arsenal v West Ham match and the place was pretty packed. Still, service was good, allowing me to get a pint of Royal London with only the standard GK ales the alternative. Its main redeeming feature is its inventive layout, allowing different sports to be broadcast on the many plasma TV's. Probably does a roaring trade year-round due to its location next to the station and although I struggle to see when I'll be back, I reckon you could do alot worse.
