Excellent pint of Banks' and the base of the Chester Motorcycle Club. Nice friendly pub with a good landlord and customers. Beer garden and parking. Worth a visit to here and The Mount over the road.

I have just bought a house round the corner from this pub, and I am delighted that it has now become my local. It has a great wood panelled interior, a real open fire (so it's perfect for winter's evenings) and, as somebody has already mentioned, the landlord is a really friendly bloke who always says hello, and goodbye, and all that. It's got a folk night. It's got a quiz night. I'm never going to be at home.

One of my favourite places for pool, I believe it's still less than 50p. The beer is equally inexspensive. They used to have folk nights which were great. I have nursed many a hangover here which perhaps adds to the surreal nature of the events that occur randomly. Many a lady has offered me mince pies (real mincemeat), sandwichs of all denominations and puddings of ancient English descent. I would frequent this place much more often if it was nearer to where I live and I hadn't been involved in that horrible drunken day debacle that left 10 men, including by no fault of my own me, barred for life.

A Bank's pub about quater of a mile from Chester city centre. A very friendly atmosphere, and a nice landlord (Ron).
