terrible service, the man behind the bar refused to serve us, despite our producing ID, only later would he sell us alcohol, then refused our friend being allowed on site on the grounds that we were drinking and that 'we may give him some' even though we gave no indication of this and it was before 9pm so he had no legal right nor reason to do this other than personal reasons. At no stage had we raised our voices, yet he kept being aggressive, even more so when we produced the actual law that said our friend is allowed on site as long as he is accompanied by an adult, which we proved ourselves to be with our IDs, and went on to threaten to ban us all from the pub, to which my friend then said he would leave because it wasn't worth the hassle.
Truly poor service and we felt deeply insulted, wouldn't recommend.
despite what people say that this is a student pub, when they treat students like how we were treated, i find that hard to believe.

Very unusual for me to frequent places like this (crap for real ale, youngish clientele, etc) but owing to the criminal paucity of pubs down the hill, I tend to visit in mid-week.

Think it's recently changed hands(?) - anyway, the lager off the tap's improved a tad (not saying much) and they now have free wi-fi. Also one of the few places down the hill with a beer garden. Decent in the summer for people watching and perving on the studenty girls that come in...

What has happened to this place???

Used to be rammed on a Thursday through to Sunday..

now COMPLETELY DEAD! No DJs, no music, no Karaoke, no people nothing!

Shuts early usually because its so quiet, only a handful of people in there at peak evening times.

Junction is dead. RIP.

been going to this pub on and off for about 8 years, and sad to say it got a lot worse, the bar staff dont give a shit unless your there mate,so takes ages to get a drink, i dont recomend the food etheir.
its mostly full 18 to 25 year old kids, most of them are ok, but theres a lot of dicks down there too!
its a good pub in the summer though if your sitting outside, and its always lively, theres a good jukebox in there aswell

Student pub with a few people from the local offices dthere during or after work. Not a bad pub, half decent food, half decent beer and a usual drink specials you'd expect to attract in the kids. I enjoy a drink there, especially in summer.
