Harveys village pub. The room on the right is a games room with a pool table. The room on the left is a bar area, that leads into a separate dining section beyond. The 2 Harveys ales were Sussex Best Bitter & Sussex Champion. The interior is fairly non-descript. Some of the staff were tucking into Sunday lunches. Arguably the most disappointing of the 10 pubs we tried in East Sussex yesterday.

very popular pub with locals for beer in evening after work. Friendly staff. Went with some local friends mid Bank Holiday week. Beer was good however not too impressed with food, very bland cooking, lamb chops overdone, fish greasy, soggy veg etc. So, OK for a beer but that's all - unless you're easily pleased.

An excellent place. Friendly staff, beer in good nick. Massive food portions. Not surprising given the pub's name but the ham, egg & chips was stupendous. We gorged ourselves and still took a considerable doggy bag with us.

My boyfriend and I love this pub. They have a new-ish cook who is really friendly and the portions are huge. I had enough to do my dinner & took a doggy bag for lunch the next day. The owners are young and friendly. We are getting to know the locals who are really nice and we always have a laugh. Their anniversary was great as they had a band in which was a nice change.

I recomend this pub to everyone as it is so nice for a quiet drink or a meal out. The meals are really resonably priced too. I would be very suprised if they ever sold any puddings in there as they are nice but there is no room at the end of a meal. I hope others enjoy this pub as much as we do.

The pub has indeed been renamed and the new sign arrived last week. To celebrate they were having a hog roast on Saturday. Three Harveys beers were available, Hadlow IPA, Sussex Best and Olympia. Prices still very reasonable for the area.
