| Nice range of beers always kept rotated and some good guest ales. Limited menu depending on who is around. Sky sports shown and open late Friday and Saturday. Great for a pint after work or on a cold evening as its not a summer place as has no garden. brianbrain - 15 Sep 2015 17:41 |

| This shop conversion has gone under several different names - you may have known it as The Black Rose, Rosies Ale House, Old Rosies and no doubt a few other names as well. Now run by friendly Irishman Dennis, it is clean, tidy and welcoming. A locals pub that welcomes new visitors, with a great selection of whiskies and a singular real ale that is always very presentable. I've visited this pub on various days/times expecting to catch them out - but it hasn't happened - whatever beer is on sale has been in good condition. | I have never met such an odd landlord. He seems to deliberately ignore his punters and constantly seems stressed. I like the pub but the Irish owner (who's accent I can barely decipher) behaves like a little bull terrier whenever I am there. Perhaps it's me?? HenryHooHa - 11 Feb 2012 10:44 |
