Know what? I expected to hate this place, but it's really good. It's a bit like drinking in a bunker, but the service is great and genuinely friendly. No windows, though.

I really like this place and hace been using it for years for all sorts of accasions and none. The outside is off-putting but when did that mean anything? The prices are designed to keep out the "pub trade2 as it sees itself as up market of that and has no draught beers.

Good selection of wines and a really first class house wine set. Very friendly place with more intimate booths if needed.

The food is excellent and generously portioned - the barmaids match - need i say more wink! wink! They have a 2 for 1 ofer for early evening meals at present.

They do treat newcomers as if they were regulars and you may need to book for a lunch time table.

Any description of a pub being 'a dump' causes me to think there must be something nice about the place. I'm a born optimist when it comes to 'dumps'. I've been in here a couple of times, and it's not that bad. It's a tad expensive and its in the middle of a 60's style concrete monstosity with matching shops. Once inside, it's relaxing with friendly staff. The Hock is very nice too.

A dump. Plain and simple. The other poster with the glowing report must own it. Put it this way, they advertise on the outside that they serve Hock. Enough said.
