Sort out as its a previously unclaimed tick in the 2017 GBG.

Well worth it. Packed at midday on a Sunday and still they kept coming in.

Converted house, so small rooms with crammed together tables. Tiny bar, with a chalkboard above detailing the half a dozen ales.

I would have had a Wetheroak Tillermans Tipple but the bar lady wasn''t happy with the quality on pouring. Now, thats a nice change!

Instead, I had possibly the finest Wye Valley Butty Bach ever had. And I''ve had a few!

I'm sure it's lovely but... doesn't open until 7, and no-one answers the phone if you try and ring beforehand to book a table, even though there was clearly a staff member inside sitting at a table. We went down the canal to the Crown instead.

Called in late September while walking along the canal towpath. We'd been warned by locals at the 'Crown', a bit further along the canal, that the 'Weighbridge' closed at 3 p.m., so we'd altered our itinerary slightly to get there in time. Plenty of choice of real ale at the small bar. Although they don't really serve food (or at least not on certain days), they did have some pre-packed sandwiches available.

Interesting 3 roomed pub (with additional outside seating under cover with heater) that is a part of the marina and less than 5 minutes from the station. 6 handpumps 1 x cider and 5 interesting beers kept in good nick. Reasonably priced food menu and, in addition, locally made pork pies!. Does get very busy so you are advised to reserve a table if intending to eat.

Slightly restricted opening hours, 1200 - 1500 and 1900 to 2300 (2230 on Sunday) with no food on Monday - wednesday.

Well worth a visit.

Stumbled on this pub on the advice of "uglyduck32". I reckon they didn't go far enough to extol the brilliance of this canal-side nugget.

Just nipped in for a quick drink, to find an excellent range of ales, excellent value, the best crisps on earth, and will definitely be back to examine the mouthwatering described pork pie & sauce.

What a gem. Just for the surroundings, and the service, a big 9..
