Consistently dismal. Yes I am biased against Greene King but I am not alone in my opinion.

I went to the Lamb pub in Chalgrove with a friend and his 2 daughters ages 8yrs and 10yrs and we all ordered the same food......gammon, eggs and chips 2 adult lunches and 2 children lunches. We were all disappointed one of the children ordered mash potato instead of chips and it did not look appetising so was not eaten. The only difference in size of the meals was that the adult portion had an extra egg otherwise they were the same size portions, that being the case my friend and I wished that we had ordered children size portions and saved a lot of money and we would have had an icecream included in the childrens price. The adult gammon had loads of fat on it and the children's had all the fat cut off but the gammon was over grilled and dried out, so again it was not eaten. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration and we were very disappointed and wasted a lot of money :-( I have spoken to people in the area and they all say it's not a great place to eat........ wish I had asked around before going there.

I do not want to put your pub down. I have visited it occasionally, over the past couple of months, early afternoon. Not sure who was serving me, barmaid/manager/barman/owner. They seem to have had a few drinks before serving me, and continue to help themselves! The only pub I have seen that allows the staff to drink behind the bar when serving.

Typical local Oxfordshire village pub... hosts of Chalgrove's up-and-coming "Chalgrove Music Festival".
