Recommended... You always know as soon as you walk in... Large pub with views over the harbour to rear, tables set out for food, but also I can imagine decent in the evening. Dog friendly as well. Staff were knowledgeable, immediately answering food allergy queries regarding my wife's gluten intolerance, and even having glutton free beer. Food was good, reasonably priced for central Falmouth, and great beer choice; Sharpes Coaster, along with Skinners Stoggs and Cornish knocker. Lots of ciders as well, Cornish orchards gold, Thatchers and Old Rosie. Love all the led lights, which I'm sure look great at night..

I visited this pub several times recently. It's a nice pub.
The staff were efficient but not particularly friendly.
A couple of things annoyed me though.
The backpacker at the bar loudly claiming to have personal ties with every tourist he latched on to's hometown got on me nerves after a bit this wasn't the pubs fault.
The follwing are -
I was getting a pint and an elderly gent at the bar ordered a bottle of wine off the wine list to be met with the barmaid laughing and saying 'that wine list's about 5 years out of date'. I thought this was unprofessional and rather rude.
I watched the England v Slovakia game on a Wednesday afternoon here. The pub was busy but not rammed. It was a nice atmosphere. Even the 2 German ladies behind me were supporting England. However the experience was soured when, just after getting a last pint to watch the post match comment and the highlights of the other game the landlord immediately turned up the music up.. Why on earth did he think the people in the pub wanted to listen to Pixie Lott and Cher at 5 o'clock on a Wednesday ? I really felt it was a 'right then we've put up with you as long as we had to now get out' attitude on the behalf of the landlord.
Low ceilings, naval theme, toilets down steep stairs, pool table very worn, about 2 dozen people in on a Monday night, food all day, accents from all over and a great view over the water.

Great view of the harbour, can't remember much about the beer but the blonde barmaid's legs made a lasting impression. Worth a visit to see them even if you're teetotal.

Good food, Excellant local beers, Stoggs and Cornish Knocker from Skinners as well as Sharps Doom Bar. All excellantly served. Recommanded.

Called in for a swift half in the middle of the afternoon but ended up staying and drinking two excellent pints of Doom Bar which were served by a very attractive and friendly barmaid named Louise. Although I did not try them, there were three other hand pulled real ales available, all from Skinners Brewery. I cant comment about the food as it is served lunchtime and evening only, but I do agree with previous comments about the pleasant views of the harbour and estuary from the rear of the pub.
