OK pub, Beers not bad, Otter Ale was decent, food was pretty good.
Sat outside in the sun next to the river. Only 1 staff on duty and he was doing everything, Bar duties, food orders, food deliveries and collecting glasses.
So you can imagine his stressed attitude did not come over very well.

I think we must have been in the back bar when we visited on a cold January afternoon.
Great location for a pub, pint of fosters was very tasty although fairly expensive.

Would visit again.

Extremely unfriendly service - went in to get a drink and made the mistake of going to the loo before ordering only to be treated to a load of sarcastic abuse when i went to the bar, for having dared to use their loos without buying. Best avoided.

Stopped off at the 'Port Royal' for a swift half, the other day, en route to the main attraction, the 'Double Locks' pub a mile or so away along the canal path. You can walk the whole distance from Exeter quayside to the Double Locks pub, but it would be rude to pass this fine hostelry by without imbibing a tipple or two, and raising a glass to the good folk of yore who used to live in Port Royal, and who lost their lives on that fateful day... go on, have a drink to them! Gawd blessem! TJ
