Popped in, hoping for a few pints on a Friday evening. No bitter on at all with no explanation given and was given the impression that this was a regular state of affairs by an unhelpful and surly bar maid. Shame as this used to be a good pub so won't be rushing back here agin in a while.

Best pub in the area, always has all the sport on with superb TVs and HD projectors upstairs it is a great place to watch the sport (especially the rugby) and has an unrivalled friendly atmosphere. With most pubs being turned into awful gastro pubs or cocktail bars its nice to see a true pub one can call a local staying strong and beating the trend.

'The Alex' has really friendly bar staff and serves excellent food as well as having a couple of ales on tap.

I regularly come here with mates for sport, my girlfriend for a quiet nice evening away from the riff raff that are in other bars in the area, or even just on my own for a drink and read/sport and am never disappointed.

If you are wondering where all the good pubs have gone and if there are any left then look no further.

Good, friendly atmosphere, acceptable service, lots of seating any time but Friday/Saturday night. Very basic and a bit of a rough feel - I wouldn't take a date here - but good fun for a night out.

This pub is superbly located (right beside the tube), but that's about it to be honest. The guinness was OK but the service was fairly poor. Again, alot of eastern europeans. Witnessed a member of staff being very very rude to a customer and there was a smelly irish guy at the bar who couldn't pronounce his words properly - jibbering threateningly at people - All very very very strange!!
Really bad flies in there as well, don't know what was going on. Have swerved this pub quite a few times since and I can't see myself going back there anytime soon.
